THE WORD TORAH

THE WORD TORAH

The word Torah means instruction, not the first 5 books of the bible.

When it's used by itself, it's the Covenant instruction.

The word is first used is with Abraham. Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and did guard my watch, my commandments, my statutes, and my Torah.

Here some example's where it is used for instruction, not the first 5 books of the Bible.

Lev 7:37 This is the Torah of the ascending offering, of the grain offering, and of the sin offering, and of the guilt offering, and of the ordinations, and of the slaughtering of peace offerings,

Lev 13:59 “This is the Torah of the infection of leprosy in a garment of wool or linen, or in the warp or in the weft, or in any leather object, to pronounce it clean or to pronounce it unclean.”

Lev 15:32 ‘This is the Torah for one who has a discharge,

The paleo Hebrew was a picture language.

Deu 6:1 “Now this is the commandment, the statutes and ordinances that Adonai your God commanded to teach you to do in the land you are crossing over to possess—

Deu 6:2 so that you might fear Adonai your God, to keep all His statutes and mitzvot that I am commanding you and your son and your son’s son all the days of your life, and so that you may prolong your days.

Deu 6:3 Hear, therefore, O Israel, and take care to do this, so that it may go well with you and you may increase mightily, as Adonai the God of your fathers has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

Deu 6:4 “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one .

Deu 6:5 Love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Deu 6:6  These words (speach), which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart.

Deu 6:7 You are to teach them diligently to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up.

Deu 6:8 Bind them as a sign on your hand, they are to be as frontlets between your eyes

Deu 6:9 and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

dabar: speech, word

Original Word: דָבָר
Transliteration: dabar
Phonetic Spelling: (daw-baw')
Part of Speech: Noun Masculine
Short Definition: speech, word

Note: The only speech heard by the people was the 10 Commandment Covenant. Also Leviticus was not given yet, so Torah is not the first 5 books of the Bible.
